Useful information for Junior Grades
Good manners and mutual respect.
You should always show good manners and mutual respect to all Judoka. If you do not others may not want to practice with you or teach you and your judo will not improve.
Safety
As Judo is a contact sport safety is paramount to prevent injuries. To prevent injury Judo players need to practice safely under supervision in the Dojo. Judo should not be done outside the Dojo and should not be done on people who do not do Judo. Students must always follow their Sensei's instructions on the mat. You must act sensibly and always let your Sensei know straight away if some one is hurt during practice.
Guidance for grading
Above green belt
Shiai (contest) will be a major factor in determining your grade. If you are not successful in shiai, you may be considered for promotion, after more than one attempt at each tab (taking into account your techniques) - at the discretion of the grading officer (senior grade).
